The village of Owanye, in Busia district in Easter Uganda, faces a large number of vulnerable and often orphaned children who have to walk about four kilometres to attend the nearest school. In order to solve this problem, the Omanye Functional Adult Literacy Group started a new school in the local area in order to provide small children education and to avoid them walking long distance.

During the past year we have been trying to help four schools in Uganda achieve their registration certificates which is not easy.  We were delighted to receive a copy of this new certificate which is a license to operate for Jephnar Nursery School in Omanye village in  Busia, Eastern Uganda.

Irene from Jepnar Nursery School in Omanye Village, Busia, Eastern Uganda, has written to thank Afrinspire for financial support which has enabled them to complete the construction of school latrines to the standard required by the government of Uganda, and so get the school officially registered. The school's 63 children and teachers will benefit greatly from the latrines and newly constructed classrooms.
