Volunteering in Cambridge

Volunteering opportunities exist in the Cambridge office of Afrinspire. Communications and fund-raising roles are on offer.

Volunteers are exposed to the full range of tasks available in a charity organisation which is directly connecting with many African partners as well as UK supporters.

Cambridge undergraduates and postgraduates

volunteer at Afrinspire, during term time, in vacations and after graduation. Alongside students, all those interested are welcome to get in touch.

What is volunteering like?

Cambridge University International Development Society has published an Afrinspire volunteer's account of her time in Uganda.

Lin Bowker-Lonnecker writes:

"The best part of the trip was visiting and interacting with a variety of extremely inspiring people, who are attempting to make real positive changes in their communities and who have achieved a great deal already.  The key part of Afrinspire’s success is the collaboration with the local partners, working towards the common goal of achieving the most positive impact on Uganda’s communities"
